On September 13, 2026, the Russian Heritage Society gathered at Shawnee Mission Park in Shawnee, Kansas, for our Annual Fall Picnic.

Families and friends of all ages came together for an afternoon outdoors, and as always, our potluck table did not disappoint — everyone brought something delicious to share. It was wonderful to see familiar faces and welcome newcomers to our community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to all who contributed to the potluck dinner. Events like this are what make our community feel like family.

We look forward to seeing you at our next gathering!

Spring 2026 was full of wonderful gatherings for our community. Here is a look back at three special events:

Annual Spring Picnic — May 2

On May 2, we gathered at Shawnee Mission Park for our Annual Spring Picnic. Families and friends of all ages enjoyed an afternoon outdoors with a delicious potluck dinner shared by all.

Girls Only Sip and Paint — April 26

On April 26, we hosted a Girls Only Sip and Paint evening in Shawnee. Guests brought a dish and a drink to share for dinner before picking up their paintbrushes for a creative night of painting and conversation.

Student Party — April 19

On April 19, past, present, and future students of our Russian language classes came together for a Student Party in Shawnee. It was a joyful evening of good food — thanks to everyone’s potluck contributions — and great company.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this spring. Your warmth and enthusiasm make every event special!
